A new, free community tool: at https://connect.balduur.de, OMC | CONNECT links cameras and participants right in the browser – no sign-up, no installation, no general access password. Remote cameras from a phone or computer, your own video rooms, live direction with a waiting room, OBS sources for single cameras or a group view, co-director and reporter, screen sharing and reusable rooms for regular shows.

OMC | CONNECT is a new, free tool for streamers, content creators, gaming communities and anyone who wants to connect cameras and participants without fuss.

CONNECT is now publicly available at https://connect.balduur.de – right in the browser, with no sign-up, no installation and no general access password.

What can OMC | CONNECT do?

Remote cameras: use a smartphone or computer as a camera and microphone source – even from another location.

Your own video rooms: open a room, invite participants and talk together.

Live direction: manage guests, receive them in the waiting room and let them in when you are ready.

OBS integration: add single cameras or a shared group view to OBS as a browser source.

Co-director and reporter: bring more people into the production, for example for interviews or reports straight from events.

Screen sharing: share content from your own computer with the other participants.

Reusable rooms: keep using existing invitations and production links for regular shows.

What can I use CONNECT for?

Star Citizen and gaming: a fellow player reports live from an event while the director takes their camera straight into the show.

IRL streaming: a reporter is out and about with a smartphone and sends picture and sound to the studio.

Podcasts and interviews: several guests join from different places. Their cameras can be added to OBS one by one or together.

Community events: guests, hosts and organisers can join a production without installing any software.

Clubs and small productions: use several camera angles and remote participants without setting up your own video conferencing infrastructure.

Free and without sign-up

OMC | CONNECT is run as a free community service. A current browser and an internet connection are all you need to get started.

The platform is built on proven WebRTC technology and uses its own signalling and relay infrastructure. Whether a connection runs directly or through a relay server depends on the networks involved.

Try it now: https://connect.balduur.de

We look forward to your experiences, ideas and bug reports from real-world use.

Holo Comms: in-game video calls from pilot to pilot

With BalduursGATE client 0.4.33 you can call each other right inside the game: the other pilot appears as a hologram on the glass overlay above Star Citizen, with picture, sound and background removal. Accept, decline, mute, video and hang up sit on Ctrl+Alt keys. Picture and sound go directly from PC to PC, encrypted and never recorded. Holo is off by default; switch it on under Settings → Holo Comms.

The update arrives by itself on the next start. New: Holo Comms, a holo glass overlay that adapts to any size, and camera selection that reliably finds your saved camera. On Linux, camera and microphone now work too – the radio has sound there again. Linux pilots also get the timestamp fix from 0.4.32.

When several pilots are at the same planet or moon, their names on the live map are now stacked neatly instead of on top of each other. If a position is older than ten minutes, the time is shown – so you can tell how fresh a dot is.

Emergency: MAYDAY now alerts the matching organisations automatically

When a MAYDAY comes in, BalduursGATE creates the operation at once and alerts every released organisation with a matching focus – all at the same time, with an alert card in Discord and in the operations centre. The first to accept takes the job. An organisation that has set its focus and switched on the emergency network is released automatically. Once finished, the operation can be rated.

The operations centre now shows a radio tile: channel, target, mode and group of the running operation, plus a button that opens the radio. It is not a second radio system – just the existing operations radio, one click closer. Without a running operation it simply says the radio is available.

The client now sends the time from the Game.log with every event, instead of the moment of sending. Restarting the program no longer dumps an old session into the map and radio log as “now”, and duplicate reports are gone.
